OnWatch – A survivor-led training session designed to empower you to spot, report, and prevent sex trafficking where you live, work and play. A great resource for parents too. Very informative 10-module course which can be taken in about an hour. The program will save your progress if you need to step away from your computer.

International Justice Ministry – Fighting to combat world-wide slavery, exploitation and abuse through strengthening justice systems, rescuing and restoring victims, bringing criminals to justice, and scaling the demand for protection through advocates.

Rockbridge Area Prevention Coalition – The coalition’s mission is “to reduce substance use among youth and build resilient youth and families through evidence-based strategies to achieve community-level change.”

Polaris Project – Works to reshape the systems that allow for sex and labor trafficking in North American and operates the U.S. National Human Trafficking Hotline. Developers of OnWatch.

The Lampstand - A safe Christian-run place to live with trauma-informed care for girls who have suffered sexual exploitation. 12-month residential program in Roanoke for girls ages 12-17. The Lampstand also provides preventative educational programs for youth - through schools, churches and youth-serving organizations.

Safe House Project – A. national leader in combating child sex trafficking. Their efforts have established and helped numerous safe houses across the U.S.

New Creation – A Harrisonburg fairtrade shop and business dedicated to battling human trafficking world-wide through of sales of goods, education, presence in schools to educate students and support for those removed from sex trafficking. Wide range of beautifully made items and a great shop if you need a gift and want to support the cause. Goods made by survivors or those vulnerable to trafficking. Items are available in their store on Route 11 south of downtown Harrisonburg or online.

Human Trafficking Institute – Combats human trafficking through legal reform, enforcement training and survivor support worldwide. Their mission statement: “The Human Trafficking Institute (HTI) exists to decimate trafficking by stopping traffickers. We are building a future where the fear dynamic is turned upside down: where traffickers are afraid, and their victims are emboldened.”

Virginia Crime Report – “Crime in Virginia,” an annual report of crimes with breakdowns by type of offense, counts, age and details on offenders, locations and months of offenses, weapon involvement and more. A lengthy, detailed report. (You will need to click on title within home page statement.)
